COVID-19 ALERT: We have taken enhanced health and safety measures to protect our venue guests. However, there is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the CDC, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.


By entering the venue, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19, and Venue disclaims any and all liability related thereto.

In accordance with the guidance and recommendations set forth by the CDC and local health officials, we respectfully request that the following guests not come to the ice arena:

  • Guests who are feeling sick or experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms (including fever, cough and shortness of breath);

  • Guests who have been diagnosed with, or believe to have contracted, COVID-19, unless you have had no fever for 72 hours (without use of medicine) and 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared;

  • Guests who have been in contact with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19 within the past 14 days; and

  • Guests who have traveled internationally in the past 14 days.

All patrons entering the venue will be required to wear a facial covering or mask and keep it on at all times while in the venue.


Guests Entering The Rink

Each guest or the team / user group must check-in at the admissions counter prior to entering the facility.  In accordance with the CDC’s recommendations for social distancing, we ask for 6 feet of space between individuals or small groups approaching admissions. 


  • All clubs & user groups must provide a list of participants to a Manager a minimum of 12 hours prior to the scheduled ice slot.

  • Whenever possible, we encourage groups to call ahead and make a reservation by phone. 

  • The Rink will take payment by phone for groups whenever possible to minimize exchange.

  • The Rink recommends only credit / debit transactions when possible to minimize exchange.  

  • We ask that all parents/guardians wait in the parking lot or away from the facility until their participant is admitted into The Rink, whenever possible.

  • Participants should arrive dressed and ready to take the ice in full hockey equipment- less skates, goalie pads, helmets, and gloves.

  • Masks / face coverings are required to all while inside The Rink facility.

  • Any individual reporting or experiencing symptoms commonly associated with COVID-19 will not be allowed access to the facility for the health and safety of all.


Participants & Spectators

Access to the facility for spectators and participants will be monitored at the admissions counter.  Spectra reserves the right to limit or deny admission to the facility if The Rink is considered to be at capacity, meaning the visible capacity of the facility is at its maximum with appropriate social distancing measures.  Various signage will be posted throughout the facility to provide important information. 

  • Social distancing must be practiced while inside the facility and on the ice whenever possible, by maintaining 6 feet of distance between individuals or small groups.

  • Individuals should avoid large gatherings at all times.

  • Participants should use increased spacing, gather in small groups, limited mixing between groups, and use staggered scheduling when possible. 

  • It is required, that all guests wear masks in all areas of The Rink.  Spectra will monitor and follow all state / local ordinances and requirements.

  • The CDC recommends frequent hand washing to prevent the spread of illness.  Hands should be thoroughly washed for at least 20 seconds, using lukewarm water and soap.  Examples include before touching your face and after being in public areas. 

  • It is the responsibility of guests to wash / disinfect their equipment before and after each session.

  • Guests should keep personal items in a bag or in their personal vehicle

  • Participants / guests should bring their own water and keep this with their personal items.

 Water fountains will be unavailable during this period.

  • Personal items will not be accepted or stored by admissions personnel

  • We discourage the sharing of items that are difficult to clean, sanitize or disinfect.  Towels, clothing, jerseys and other similar items should not be shared.


Be the ultimate teammate:  Be respectful and mindful of others.  Practice good hygiene and help keep each other healthy and safe.


Locker Rooms & Rink Access

  • Locker rooms will be open and limited to hockey team participants and pre-authorized groups. 

  • Limit one hockey team per locker room.  

  • Showers will be unavailable and off limits during this period.

  • Participants may leave their hockey bag in the locker rooms while on the ice with proper

       separation between individual’s personal items.

  • The Rink recommends maintaining staggering use of the locker rooms and social distancing in the as

       much as possible.

  • Access to the locker rooms will be limited to 10 minutes an ice session.

  • Coaches are responsible for ensuring groups are in their pre-determined locker room and

        avoiding cross-over / mixing of groups

  • Use of the locker room area pre-session is allotted for 10 minutes.

  • Use of the locker room area post-session is allotted for 10 minutes.


On-Ice Hockey Guidelines

  • Please review above section Guests entering The Rink

  • Ice sessions must practice social distancing from others of 6 feet or more.

  • The Coach must be present and the first participant to enter inside the ice rink to monitor and educate athletes on social distancing.

  • Participants are not required to wear masks/face coverings during play. The Rink works in conjunction with event organizers for mask requirements for all on-ice participants during private rental hockey activities.  

  • Coaches, officials, and referees should be a role model and educate players on how to provide a safe environment for athletes. 

  • Coaches are required to wear face masks.

  • Coaches should encourage the use of hand sanitizer and good hand washing among athletes

  • It is recommended that coaches do not use blowing whistles. Electronic whistles are recommended.

  • Check with your sports administrator to make sure all cleaning and disinfecting recommendations are followed, disinfecting frequently touched surfaces and equipment between use or with shared equipment.

  • Only Coaches, officials and Spectra staff may move nets/barriers.

  • Physical contact is discouraged, and group / team huddles are prohibited until further notice.  Unnecessary physical contact is discouraged such as high fives, handshakes, fist bumps, hugs

  • Participants should have their own, clearly labeled water bottle that is not shared.

  • Spitting is Prohibited

-At no time shall 10 or more people, including the coach, be assigned to a group.

-Groups must be clearly designated and separated on the ice.

  • Barriers/markings are recommended to identify such group

-There should be no crossover / mixing between groups for player safety

  • Teams should familiarize themselves with USA Hockey’s provided recommendations in the Resources section below.


On-Ice Figure Skating Guidelines

  • A designated entrance/exit location will be provided in prior communication.

  • An adult Coach (aged 18+) must be on the ice for all ice sessions.

  • Participants are not required to wear masks/face coverings while skating. The Rink works in conjunction with event organizers for mask requirements for all on-ice participants during private rental skating activities.  

  • Coaches are required to wear face masks.

  • No equipment should be shared, unless disinfected by the coach prior to the next user.

  • It is recommended that coaches do not blow whistles. Electronic whistles are recommended.

  • Only Coaches may connect to play music.

    • Music will be played from inside the office under supervision of a The Rink staff member

    • If music is needed, it must be communicated to the Manager no less than 12 hours prior to an ice session.

    • A headphone jack is provided. If using an apple phone, an adapter will be needed to connect.
