Have you ever wanted to play hockey but didn't know where to start?
Can you skate or taken previous Learn to Skate lessons and want to try something new?
This a fun, safe and affordable way to introduce your child (and yourself) to the sport of hockey. Learn the basics from our professional staff of instructors and coaches.
The class is designed for beginners and knowing how to skate is required, it is recommended that each student can skate independently or taken and passed Basic 1 through the Learn to Skate program. This will allow the instructors to focus on hockey skills, rather than teaching your child how to skate.
If you need equipment, we can rent the equipment free of charge for the 8-week session with a refundable check deposit of $100. Equipment sizing will happen 30 minutes before the start of the first class. Rental skates will be provided for the entire session.
Each player will need the following to participate: stick, shin pads, shoulder pads, elbow pads, pants, gloves, helmet with cage.
Each player will receive a Learn to Play Heartlanders Jersey the first day of class.
**Adult Learn to Play Information**
Adult Learn to Play is built for community members interested in learning how to play hockey. This is a great way to learn the basics of hockey from shooting, skating, defending and the rules of the game.
Participants must know how to skate prior to registration. If you can't skate on the ice without holding on to the wall, you need a skate aid, you can't stop or you can't skate under control, this class IS NOT for you. We have adult Learn to Skate classes that will help you become a better skater. That information can be found HERE
Equipment rental is not available for Adult Learn to Play. You must provide your own equipment. Scheels and Play it Again sports also have adult sized gear available for purchase.
Each player will receive a Learn to Play Heartlanders Jersey that must be returned at completion of session.
